MP's Bhikangaon Road Turns Mud Pit, ₹69 Lakh Project Fails

The Bhikangaon-Jhirniya road in Madhya Pradesh has become a major inconvenience for commuters due to unfinished stretches and excessive soil, turning several sections into muddy slush. The 37.5km road is being constructed by Bidal Developers at a cost of around ₹69 lakh.

The road's condition has worsened during the monsoon, with two-wheelers frequently skidding on the muddy surface and movement of four-wheelers becoming difficult. Social worker Rajesh Chauhan alleged that the contractor dug up the road but left several stretches incomplete, leading to accidents after rainfall.

Residents are forced to take a 14km detour via the Bamnala route to avoid the muddy stretch, increasing their daily travel time and fuel expenses. The 11km distance between Bhikangaon and Goradia has effectively increased to around 25km.

Janpad vice-president and social worker Dinesh Jaiswal expressed concern over the situation, stating that the incomplete road has caused significant inconvenience to commuters. PWD SDO Lokesh Chauhan said construction had remained suspended for about a week due to Raksha Bandhan and would resume soon.
