Bhiwandi Prepares for Ganeshotsav 2026 with Traffic, Immersion Plans

The Bhiwandi-Nizampur City Municipal Corporation (BNCMC) has begun preparations for the upcoming Ganeshotsav festival, scheduled to take place from September 14 to 25.

A review meeting was held under the chairmanship of BNCMC Mayor Narayan Ratan Chaudhary, where discussions focused on providing basic amenities to devotees and promoting an environment-friendly celebration.

The meeting was attended by Municipal Commissioner Anmol Sagar, Bhiwandi West MLA Mahesh Choughule, Bhiwandi East MLA Rais Shaikh, and representatives from the Public Ganeshotsav Federation, municipal officials, police officers, and Torrent Power.

Ganeshotsav was declared a state festival by the Maharashtra government in 2024, and the BNCMC is taking steps to ensure a smooth and safe celebration.

Public Ganesh Mandal Federation president Madan Bhoi raised concerns about roads, traffic congestion, and immersion facilities, and sought better facilities at immersion sites.

Bhiwandi East MLA Rais Shaikh called for timely trimming of tree branches along immersion routes and properly maintained roads and streetlights.

He also emphasized the need for effective traffic management on the city's main roads and asked the police administration to prepare a traffic plan for the festival period.

Bhiwandi West MLA Mahesh Choughule suggested using mastic asphalt for repairing potholes and stressed the importance of leveling roads properly.

He also directed the engineering department to inspect roads, prepare a list of potholes, and submit a repair plan.

Additionally, Choughule called for restricting the entry of heavy vehicles into market areas during the festival shopping period and implementing a single-window mechanism for Ganesh mandals to obtain permissions.

The BNCMC is also taking steps to prevent adulteration of sweets and other food products during the festive season, with inspections and strict action against violations.

The civic body is working to ensure a successful and enjoyable Ganeshotsav celebration for the people of Bhiwandi.

With the festival just around the corner, the BNCMC is leaving no stone unturned to provide a safe and convenient experience for devotees.
