The government has released a list of the top e-commerce platforms with the highest number of consumer complaints in 2025.
According to the data, Flipkart, Amazon, and Meesho are among the top ten companies with the most complaints filed against them on the National Consumer Helpline (NCH).
The Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, BL Verma, informed Parliament that Flipkart had the maximum complaints at 1.33 lakh, followed by Amazon with 91,248 complaints, and Meesho with 29,284 complaints.
Other companies on the list include Myntra, Netmeds, Zepto, Blinkit, Naaptol, VLE Bazaar, and Nykaa.
The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has imposed penalties of about Rs 1,12,01,500 on 47 e-commerce platforms.
The NCH has also facilitated refunds of over Rs 91 crore to consumers between April 25, 2025, and June 30, 2026, with more than Rs 63 crore pertaining to grievances in the e-commerce sector.
The NCH received a total of 5.11 lakh complaints related to quick commerce in 2025, all of which were disposed of.
The major complaint categories included non-delivery of products, delivery of the wrong product, and denial of replacement or refund as per policy.
The NCH is a single-window grievance redressal platform that allows consumers to lodge complaints in 17 languages through various channels, including a toll-free number, WhatsApp, SMS, email, and a web portal.
As many as 1,853 companies have partnered with the NCH under its 'Convergence' programme to respond directly to complaints and update consumers on redressal status.
The Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, were notified by the Department of Consumer Affairs to check unfair trade practices and safeguard consumer rights.
