Mumbai Police Arrest 42-Year-Old Absconding For 7 Years

A 42-year-old man, Nagdev Badiram Rathod, was arrested by the Marine Drive Police in Mumbai on September 3, 2026, for allegedly absconding for seven years in connection with a case registered under the Arms Act.

After questioning and verification of his identity, the police confirmed that he was the wanted accused in the Arms Act case.

Rathod was taken into custody and subsequently re-arrested in the case after being informed of the grounds of arrest. The police said all Supreme Court guidelines regarding arrest were followed.

The accused also has a previous criminal record, with a case registered against him under Sections 379 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The operation was carried out under the guidance of DCP Zone 1 Manish Kalwaniya, ACP Colaba Division Pandharinath Patil, Senior Police Inspector Jitendra Kadam, and Police Inspector Rajesh Patil. The arrest team comprised Police Sub-Inspector Shalik Sidam, Police Head Constables Patil, Mahale, and More, and Police Constable Naikwadi.
