UP Launches Neem Karori Baba Spiritual Circuit

The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department has launched a new spiritual circuit dedicated to the life and legacy of Neem Karori Baba, a revered saint in India. The circuit, which includes five dedicated tour packages, will connect key places associated with the saint's life, including his birthplace in Firozabad, his ashram in Farrukhabad, the Samadhi Temple in Vrindavan, and the Hanuman Setu Temple in Lucknow.

The tour packages, ranging from two to five days, will depart from Lucknow and Delhi, offering devotees and tourists a unique opportunity to explore the life and teachings of Neem Karori Baba. The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department has invested around Rs 12.93 crore in developing the spiritual trail across Firozabad and Farrukhabad.

In Firozabad, the department has spent Rs 8.65 crore on developing Baba's birthplace at Akbarpur, which includes a multipurpose hall, cultural block, exhibition hall, dining hall, and dormitories for visitors. A separate rural tourism project worth Rs 55.44 lakh is also set to begin in the area.

In Farrukhabad, development work at Neem Karori Ashram has been completed at a cost of Rs 1.51 crore, which includes a traveller's residence, main gate, and public-use facilities. The ashram is believed to be the place where Baba spent 12 years in an underground cave.

Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said the government is working to take Baba's legacy to a wider audience, and that the new circuit will add another dimension to Uttar Pradesh's spiritual tourism offerings. The minister also stated that places associated with Baba's life and legacy had received little attention before 2017, and the government is now working to develop them as tourism destinations.
