Punjab Influencer Manjeet Kaur Dies After Being Set Ablaze

Punjabi social media influencer Manjeet Kaur, 28, died at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh on August 26. She had been undergoing treatment for severe burn injuries after an alleged attack in Punjab on July 4.

According to her mother's complaint, Kaur was abducted and set on fire in a forested area near Morinda. Two acquaintances, Shubhi and Pinda, allegedly called her to meet near a liquor shop in Chandigarh, assaulted her, and took her to the forested area. They allegedly tied her to a mulberry tree and set her on fire before fleeing.

Kaur was found by an acquaintance, who extinguished the flames and rushed her to a hospital. She was later shifted to Max Hospital in Mohali and then referred to PGIMER on July 9. Kaur remained unconscious for several weeks before briefly regaining consciousness in August.

Her family said she wanted to provide a statement to the police, but her account was not recorded in time by Punjab Police. This alleged delay has become a key point of concern surrounding the case. Kaur's health later deteriorated, and she died from her injuries on August 26.
