DRI Seizes ₹7.10 Crore Methamphetamine, Arrests 5

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has arrested five individuals, including four Nigerians and one Indian, in a major drug crackdown. The operation, which took place in Bhopal and Noida, resulted in the seizure of 8.6 kg of methamphetamine worth ₹7.10 crore.

The DRI acted on specific intelligence that a female drug trafficker would be carrying drugs on a train from New Delhi to Bengaluru. On August 11, officers intercepted the trafficker at Bhopal Junction railway station and discovered a concealed cavity in her trolley bag. The cavity contained six packets of methamphetamine, which were seized and led to the trafficker's arrest under the NDPS Act.

A follow-up operation was conducted in Greater Noida to apprehend the suppliers of the consignment. DRI and CBN officers searched the area and recovered 2.242 kg of methamphetamine, 50 gm of cocaine, and 25 gm of ganja. Four Nigerian drug traffickers were arrested in this operation.

The arrested individuals include two women and three men. The operation has resulted in the breaking of a foreign syndicate involved in drug trafficking, which recruited Indian citizens to carry out its activities.

The DRI's swift action has dealt a significant blow to the drug trafficking network. The seized methamphetamine is worth ₹7.10 crore, and the operation has prevented a large quantity of drugs from reaching the streets.

The case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat drug trafficking in India. The DRI's actions demonstrate its commitment to disrupting and dismantling drug syndicates that operate in the country.

The operation also underscores the importance of international cooperation in combating drug trafficking. The involvement of Nigerian nationals in the syndicate suggests that the network has global connections.

The DRI's success in this operation is a significant achievement in the fight against drug trafficking. It serves as a reminder that law enforcement agencies are working tirelessly to protect citizens from the scourge of drugs.

The impact of this operation will be felt for a long time, as it has disrupted a major drug trafficking network. The DRI's actions will help to prevent drug-related crimes and protect the health and well-being of citizens.

In conclusion, the DRI's drug crackdown in Bhopal and Noida is a major achievement in the fight against drug trafficking. The operation has resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of methamphetamine and the arrest of five individuals, including four Nigerians and one Indian.
