IAS Officer Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar Flees Amid KPSC Scam Probe

In a dramatic turn of events, IAS officer Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar, currently Managing Director of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), has gone missing after the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) launched a probe into the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) scam.

The ED, which is investigating the 'cash for posting' scam in the recruitment of veterinary doctors, had raided several individuals involved in the scam, including former KPSC Chairman Shivashankarappa Sahukar and Secretary Shantha Kumari.

Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar, who was the Comptroller of Examinations during the recruitment process, applied for an emergency leave on Friday, citing his father's illness, and booked a last-minute flight to Delhi.

Home Minister Priyank Kharge has come to the officer's defense, stating that he had spoken to Gangwar, who claimed to be attending to his father's health conditions and would return in a day or two.

However, when ED officials visited Gangwar's residence on Sunday and Monday, they were initially denied entry by security personnel. After police intervention, they gained access to the house, only to find that the keys were missing.

A locksmith was summoned to open the house, but the ED found no incriminating evidence, except for a printer, with no paper or digital material available.

The ED also conducted a raid on Gangwar's ancestral residence in Uttar Pradesh, but to no avail.

As a result, the ED has issued a notice to Gangwar, asking him to appear before them on August 25 with documents related to the veterinary recruitment by KPSC.

The sudden disappearance of the IAS officer has raised suspicions, and the ED is working to trace his whereabouts.

The KPSC scam has been under investigation for some time now, with several individuals being questioned and raided by the ED.
