UP Raises Fair Price Shop Dealers' Commission To ₹125 Per Quintal

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a significant increase in the commission of Fair Price Shop dealers in Uttar Pradesh, raising it by ₹35 to ₹125 per quintal. This move is expected to bring relief to dealers across the state.

The announcement was made during a programme held at Lok Bhavan, where the Chief Minister also launched the e-POS-based Fair Price Shop Dealer Feedback System under the Single Stage Door-Step Delivery system.

The ₹35 increase in margin money includes an increase of ₹10 by the Central Government and ₹25 by the State Government. The State Government has also written to the Government of India seeking a further increase of ₹25 in the commission.

Fair Price Shop dealers have welcomed the move, expressing their gratitude to the Chief Minister. Dinesh Chandra Dwivedi, a dealer from Mohanlalganj, said that the increase in commission would provide considerable relief to dealers.

The introduction of digital technology in the ration distribution system has also been praised by dealers, who say it has brought transparency and accountability to the system. Rakesh Tiwari, a dealer from Mal Block, said that the Single Stage Delivery system has ensured that dealers receive the full ration allocation and beneficiaries face no difficulty in receiving the prescribed quantity of ration.

The move is seen as a major boost to the dealers, who had been demanding an increase in commission for a long time. The Yogi Government's decision is expected to strengthen the financial condition of dealers and enhance their dignity.

The digital feedback system is also expected to improve the overall efficiency of the ration distribution system, allowing for real-time monitoring and feedback.

The increase in commission and the introduction of digital technology are part of the state government's efforts to improve the public distribution system and ensure that beneficiaries receive their full ration entitlement.

The move is significant, given the current inflationary trends and the importance of the public distribution system in ensuring food security for vulnerable populations.

In conclusion, the increase in commission and the launch of the digital feedback system are major developments that are expected to have a positive impact on the lives of Fair Price Shop dealers and beneficiaries in Uttar Pradesh.
