Bhopal Metro Trains Now Run Every 15 Minutes On Sundays

The Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL) has announced an extension of the operating schedule for Bhopal Metro on Sundays and public holidays.

As per the revised timetable, Metro trains will now run every 15 minutes throughout the day, with services extended by one hour. The last train from Subhash Nagar to AIIMS will depart at 7:30 pm, while the final train from AIIMS to Subhash Nagar will leave at 8 pm.

This change is expected to reduce passenger waiting time and provide greater flexibility for evening travel. The weekday schedule remains unchanged, with trains operating at 15-minute intervals during peak hours and according to the previously notified schedule during non-peak hours.

The decision to extend the Sunday and public holiday schedule was made due to increasing passenger demand. The recent commissioning of Bhopal Metro's advanced signalling system has enabled regular operations on both tracks, improving safety, punctuality, and service reliability.

In addition to the extended schedule, MPMRCL is offering discounts on return journey tickets, group tickets, and e-wallet recharge. Passengers can receive a 5% discount on return journey tickets and 10% off group tickets.

Those recharging their e-wallets through the mobile app will also receive bonus credit based on the recharge amount. The bonus credit ranges from 8% for recharges between Rs 200 and Rs 499 to 15% for recharges between Rs 1,500 and Rs 2,000.

According to S Krishna Chaitanya, Managing Director of MPMRCL, the promotional offers aim to promote cashless travel while making Metro commuting more economical and convenient.

The extended schedule and discounts are expected to benefit passengers and encourage the use of digital ticketing. With the improved signalling system and increased frequency of trains, Bhopal Metro is poised to provide better services to its commuters.

The move is seen as a positive step towards enhancing the overall travel experience for passengers in Bhopal. As the city's Metro system continues to grow and improve, it is likely to have a significant impact on the daily lives of its residents.

In conclusion, the extension of Bhopal Metro's Sunday and public holiday schedule, along with the introduction of discounts and promotional offers, is a welcome move for passengers. It is expected to make commuting more convenient, economical, and reliable, and will likely contribute to the growth and development of the city's transportation system.
