MP Seizes 10,464 Kg Analogue Paneer After Ban

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in Madhya Pradesh has seized 10,464 kg of analogue paneer from various districts after the state government banned its production, sale, and consumption on August 12.

This move makes MP the fourth state to prohibit the imitation dairy items, following Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat, due to health concerns and fears of surplus market dumping.

The ban also includes analogue khoya (mawa), analogue milk/ghee, and other analogue milk products. Direct seizures of these banned items have been carried out in several districts, including Indore, Bhopal, Bhind, Ratlam, Ujjain, and Dhar.

According to FDA senior food safety officer DK Verma, the seizures are a result of the ban and a crackdown on the production and sale of these items. In the last one year, 2808 kg of analogue paneer worth Rs 8.5 lakh and 47473 kg of other analogue food items worth Rs 2.6 crore have been seized.

The districts where analogue paneer was seized include Indore with 979 kg, Bhopal with 471 kg, Gwalior with 324 kg, Sehore with 204 kg, Morena with 182 kg, and several other districts with smaller quantities.

The ban on analogue paneer and other imitation dairy items is a significant step towards ensuring public health and safety in MP. The state government's decision to prohibit these items is likely to have a positive impact on the dairy industry and consumers.

The FDA's efforts to seize and destroy these banned items demonstrate the state's commitment to enforcing the ban and protecting public health. As the fourth state to ban analogue paneer, MP is setting an example for other states to follow.

The seizure of large quantities of analogue paneer and other imitation dairy items highlights the need for stricter regulations and enforcement in the dairy industry. The MP government's decision to ban these items is a step in the right direction, and it is likely to have a positive impact on the state's dairy industry and public health.

In conclusion, the seizure of 10,464 kg of analogue paneer in MP is a significant development in the state's efforts to crack down on imitation dairy items. The ban on these items is a positive step towards ensuring public health and safety, and it is likely to have a positive impact on the dairy industry and consumers.
