Krishna Mohan Appointed Ram Temple Trust Interim General Secretary

A significant development has taken place in the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, with the appointment of Krishna Mohan as its interim general secretary. This move comes after the trust accepted the resignations of Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra, who stepped down on moral grounds amid allegations of embezzlement of donations.

The allegations of donation theft surfaced recently, leading to the arrest of eight people, including Rai's driver, Ramashankar Yadav alias Tinnu. Following this, Rai offered to resign as general secretary of the Trust, and his resignation was accepted.

Krishna Mohan, a 73-year-old permanent trustee of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of interim general secretary. A retired Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer, Mohan is a native of Uttar Pradesh's Hardoi. He joined the Trust in September 2020, replacing the late Kameshwar Chaupal, and has been extensively involved in the Trust's administrative affairs since then.

Mohan completed his graduation from Lucknow University and served in the Atomic Energy Department before joining the IFS. His experience and involvement in the Trust's affairs make him a suitable candidate to take on the role of interim general secretary.

The state government has ordered a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the allegations of donation theft. According to the police, members of the racket had carefully studied the layout of the donation counting centre, including CCTV camera locations, entry and exit routes, and staff movement. The investigation is ongoing, and no criminal case has been registered against Rai or Mishra yet.

The appointment of Krishna Mohan as interim general secretary is seen as a move to restore transparency and trust in the Ram Temple Trust. The Trust is responsible for the construction and management of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, and the allegations of donation theft had raised concerns about the misuse of funds.

The development is being closely watched, and the outcome of the SIT probe is awaited. The Ram Temple Trust has assured that the construction of the temple will continue uninterrupted, and the new interim general secretary will oversee the administrative affairs of the Trust.

In the coming days, the Trust is expected to announce further measures to ensure transparency and accountability in its affairs. The appointment of Krishna Mohan is seen as a step in this direction, and his experience and expertise are expected to help the Trust navigate this challenging situation.

The Ram Temple Trust has faced several challenges since its inception, and the allegations of donation theft have added to its woes. However, with the appointment of a new interim general secretary, the Trust is hopeful of restoring public trust and completing the construction of the Ram Temple as planned.

The state government's decision to order a SIT probe has been welcomed by many, and the investigation is expected to uncover the truth behind the allegations of donation theft. The outcome of the probe will be crucial in determining the future course of action for the Ram Temple Trust and its officials.

For now, the focus is on the construction of the Ram Temple, and the Trust is working to ensure that the project is completed on time. The appointment of Krishna Mohan as interim general secretary is a significant development in this regard, and his leadership is expected to play a crucial role in the Trust's affairs in the coming days.
