Duct tape was subsequently used to further secure the passenger to his seat. A photograph shared by Olenick showed the man restrained with several layers of tape around his arms and torso. The passenger, identified as 67-year-old Arthur Lundeen of Arizona, was restrained to his seat with duct tape and his hands were restrained with zip ties.

The flight was diverted to Baltimore as the situation escalated, with law enforcement officers taking the passenger into custody once the plane landed. The flight was then cleared to continue to Newark. The FBI is investigating possible federal charges.
