Fake Naga Sadhu Steals Gold Ring from Pimpri-Chinchwad Driver

A car driver in Pimpri-Chinchwad was tricked by a scammer posing as a Naga Sadhu, who stole his gold ring. The incident took place on Saturday, August 22, around 1:00 AM on the road in front of the Municipal Commissioner’s bungalow.

The driver, Abhijit Ramchandra Patil, filed a complaint at the Chikhali Police Station, stating that the accused asked for a lift and got inside his car. The scammer, wearing saffron robes, convinced Patil that his blessings would bring him prosperity.

The accused then asked Patil to remove the gold ring from his finger, claiming he needed to touch it to his eyes. However, instead of returning the ring, the scammer surreptitiously stole it.

The Chikhali Police are investigating the case and have registered a complaint against an unknown fraudulent Sadhu. The police are reviewing CCTV footage and gathering evidence to catch the culprit.

In a separate incident, a self-proclaimed ‘bhai’ (gangster) created terror in the area by assaulting a youth with an iron rod. The incident occurred on Friday, August 21, around 7:00 PM in front of a clothing store at the Rupinagar vegetable market.

The victim, Aniket Sachin Wakale, filed a complaint at the Chikhali Police Station, stating that the accused, Manmeet Singh, and his associates abused him for not acknowledging them. The accused then dragged Wakale out of the shop, brandished an iron rod, and threatened him.

The Chikhali Police are investigating the case and have registered a complaint against Singh and his associates. The police are taking steps to ensure the safety and security of the area.

In another incident, a youth was arrested for illegally possessing a pistol in the Dehu Road area. The accused, Aditya Kailash Kadam, was arrested on Sunday, August 23, around 8:20 PM.
