Nandita Sinha Named Instamart CEO After Amitesh Jha's Exit

Swiggy has appointed Nandita Sinha, former CEO of Myntra, as the new CEO of its quick commerce arm, Instamart, effective August 3. This move comes after the resignation of Amitesh Kumar Jha, who had been leading Instamart.

Sinha brings over two decades of experience across the FMCG and e-commerce sectors to her new role. She began her career at Hindustan Unilever and later worked at Britannia Industries and Flipkart. In 2022, she was appointed CEO of Myntra, where she achieved net profitability and expanded the platform's international brand portfolio.

Amitesh Jha's exit marks the third top-level exit at Instamart in a little over a month. Earlier, Chief Operating Officer Ankit Jain and Chief Business Officer Hari Kumar had resigned from their positions. Jha had joined Instamart from Flipkart and had played a critical role in the launch of Instamart's 15-minute delivery service.

Sriharsha Majety, Managing Director and Group CEO of Swiggy, welcomed Sinha and expressed enthusiasm about her vision and operational rigour. Sinha's appointment is expected to bring stability to Instamart's leadership bench, which has seen significant churn in recent times.

Instamart is a key player in India's quick commerce market, which has seen significant growth in recent times. However, the platform has been trailing its rivals, Blinkit and Zepto, in terms of order volume. Sinha's experience and leadership are expected to help Instamart gain ground in this competitive market.

Nandita Sinha holds a B.Tech in Ceramic Engineering from IIT (BHU) Varanasi and an MBA in Marketing and Strategy from the Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University. During her tenure at Myntra, the company's revenue crossed Rs. 6,042 crore in FY25.

The leadership change at Instamart is significant, given the platform's ambitions in the quick commerce space. With Sinha at the helm, Instamart is expected to focus on expanding its services and improving its operational efficiency.

In the context of India's e-commerce market, Instamart's quick commerce platform is an important player. The market has seen significant growth in recent times, driven by increasing demand for fast and convenient delivery services. Swiggy's investment in Instamart is a testament to the company's commitment to this space.

The appointment of Nandita Sinha as CEO of Instamart is a significant development in the Indian e-commerce market. With her experience and leadership, Instamart is expected to play a key role in shaping the future of quick commerce in India.

In conclusion, the appointment of Nandita Sinha as CEO of Instamart marks a new chapter for the platform. With her experience and leadership, Instamart is expected to gain ground in the competitive quick commerce market and play a key role in shaping the future of e-commerce in India.
