Indore Police Arrest 12th Suspect in Online Betting Case

Indore police have arrested another suspect in the online betting case, bringing the total number of arrests to 12. The latest suspect, Mukesh Chaudhary, was found to be connected to previously arrested bookies Manish Pamnani and Dharmendra alias Dhammu Bhat.

The investigation has revealed that the betting network had a link to Dubai, where a bookie known as Rohit Dubai operated and provided betting links to members of the network. These links were then used to create IDs, which were sold to smaller bookies and agents.

According to DCP Narendra Rawat, Mukesh Chaudhary was involved in bringing customers to bookies Sanjay Kaushal alias Ronny, Manish Pamnani, and Dhammu Bhat, who are linked to Nana Patwari. The police have also identified Vinod alias Vicky Gidwani, Pamnani's brother-in-law, as a suspect in the case. He was operating an online betting business from Bhopal.

The betting network worked through IDs provided by bookies operating from Dubai. The main bookies would create sub-IDs through the website and provide them to agents using different numbers. These agents then used the sub-IDs to run betting operations.

The police have identified the suspects based on betting IDs found on their mobile phones, call detail records, and transactions in their bank accounts. For example, if an ID was created with a limit of Rs 1 crore, the main bookies would create sub-IDs and provide them to agents.

The police have more than 40 other bookies on their radar and are likely to make more arrests as the investigation continues. The case has highlighted the complexity of online betting networks and the need for law enforcement to crack down on such activities.
