Atiq Ahmed's Son Aban Ahmed Dies In Jhansi Road Accident

Aban Ahmed, the youngest son of slain gangster-politician and former MP Atiq Ahmed, was killed in a road accident in Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi district on Thursday. The accident occurred while he was travelling to meet his elder brother Ali Ahmed, who is lodged in Jhansi jail.

The accident took place on the Jhansi-Kanpur National Highway in the Poonch police station area. According to police, all five occupants were travelling from Prayagraj to Jhansi to meet Ali Ahmed, who has been lodged in the high-security Jhansi jail since October 2025.

Police said the accident occurred around 10.30 am near Khilli village when a speeding Hyundai Creta allegedly went out of control after the driver attempted to avoid an animal that suddenly came onto the highway. The vehicle rammed into the road divider, leaving its front portion completely mangled.

Aban Ahmed and Sonu Khan, who were seated in the front, suffered severe head injuries and died on the spot. The three injured have been identified as Ahjam of Badshahi Mandi, Mohammad Zaid of Kotwali and Umar Ahmed of Pura Mufti, all residents of Prayagraj. They were rushed to the Jhansi Medical College for treatment.

Senior Superintendent of Police B B G T S Murthy said the preliminary investigation identified one of the deceased as Aban Ahmed, son of Atiq Ahmed. He said further legal proceedings were underway.
