MP CM Mohan Yadav Visits Flood-Hit Chitrakoot

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav visited flood-hit Chitrakoot to review the flood situation caused by heavy rain in the region. He reached Rewa directly from Delhi after receiving reports of heavy rainfall and flooding in the area.

The Chief Minister addressed media persons, stating that he came to Rewa to assess the situation and discuss steps to help people affected by the rain.

Yadav is scheduled to hold a meeting with officials to review the flood situation and discuss relief measures. Reports from Chhatarpur showed waterlogging, although there was no reported loss of life or property.

The Chief Minister said officials have been put on alert and asked to make proper arrangements during the monsoon. He visited the affected areas in Chitrakoot, including the Mandakini and Singhaval rivers, and reviewed the relief and rescue operations.

Satna and Chitrakoot witnessed heavy rain on Saturday, with the region facing flood-like conditions. The torrential rain caused rivers and streams to swell, affecting normal life in several areas.

In Satna, the Ramghat was washed away, and all eight sluice gates of the Ban Sujara Dam were opened to reduce pressure on the dam. The district received around 4-5 inches of rain within just 3-4 hours, affecting five tehsils.

The Mandakini River rose sharply and flowed around five feet above the danger mark, creating flood-like conditions in parts of the district. Around 50 people from 12 badly affected villages were rescued.

The government has assured that it will work at full strength during the final phase of the monsoon and make every effort to help people facing difficulties due to the heavy rain.

The visit by the Chief Minister comes as a relief to the people affected by the floods, and the government's efforts to provide aid and support are underway.

The situation in the flood-affected areas is being closely monitored, and the authorities are working to restore normalcy as soon as possible.
