Ujjain Hospital Faces Infection Risk Due to Overflowing Sewage

A sewage chamber overflow at the Government Charak Bhavan Hospital in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, has raised concerns over the risk of infection among patients and their attendants. The overflow has caused dirty water to spread across the hospital premises, reaching other parts of the complex and creating breeding grounds for mosquitoes.

The resident medical officer (RMO) of Charak Bhavan, Dr Chinmay Chincholikar, has stated that the water level in the chamber has started decreasing after the sewage connection was linked. The hospital is also taking measures to monitor tobacco consumption and spitting on the premises, with security personnel instructed to take action against violators.

Those found breaching the rules will be issued a fine of Rs 200. The hospital is working to address the issue and prevent the spread of infection among patients and staff.
