Amruta Fadnavis Supports Demand For Medical College In Beed

Amruta Fadnavis, wife of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has pledged to strongly pursue the demand for a government medical college in the Ashti Assembly constituency of Beed district.

She made this promise while inaugurating a mega health camp in Ashti on the occasion of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis' birthday. The health camp was organised by BJP MLA from Ashti, Suresh Dhas, and witnessed an overwhelming turnout of residents seeking medical check-ups and treatment.

Amruta Fadnavis stated that a healthy society is the true strength of the nation and everyone must prioritise their health. She considered MLA Suresh Dhas's demand for a government medical college in Ashti to be completely justified and assured that she would make every effort to ensure its approval.

The mega health camp was jointly organised by the Chief Minister's Relief Fund, the Charity Hospital Help Desk, and the Beed District Administration. Prominent dignitaries present at the event included former MLA Sahebrao Darekar, Dr Eknath Pawar, and Dr Madhusudan Gaikwad.

MLA Suresh Dhas highlighted the region's socio-economic backdrop, stating that the Ashti Assembly constituency is largely inhabited by sugarcane cutters and migrant labourers who urgently require well-equipped, state-of-the-art medical facilities. He emphasized that sanctioning a government medical college in the area would provide a permanent healthcare solution for thousands of underprivileged families.

Renowned ophthalmologist Padma Shri Dr Tatyarao Lahane also addressed the gathering, stressing the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle and advising parents to keep young children away from mobile phones.

The free mega health camp was a huge success, with the organisers announcing that it would continue on August 6 and 7, 2026, due to the large number of beneficiaries.
