CBSE Opens Class 10 Re-Evaluation Window Until August 19

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has initiated the application process for verification of marks and re-evaluation of answers for Class 10 students. The application window, which commenced on August 16, 2026, will remain open until August 19, 2026.

This facility is available to students who have obtained the scanned copy of their evaluated answer book. Both Class 10 Main Board and Second Board examinations in 2026 are eligible for this process.

According to the CBSE notice dated August 5, 2026, students can submit their applications for verification of marks, re-evaluation, or both online between August 16 and August 19, 2026. The fee for verification of marks is Rs 300 per answer book, while the re-evaluation fee is Rs 100 per question, including all sub-questions.

To apply, students need to visit the official CBSE website at cbse.gov.in and access the online facility for verification of marks and re-evaluation. They must log in using their examination and candidate details, select the relevant answer book, and choose the facility they wish to apply for.

For verification, students must pay the prescribed fee of Rs 300 per answer book. For re-evaluation, they need to select the full question(s) for which re-evaluation is required, provide the reasons for the request, and pay the applicable Rs 100 per question re-evaluation fee.

CBSE has clarified that re-evaluation is conducted for a full question and not for a part of a question. Students are advised to compare their answers with the question paper and marking scheme before submitting a re-evaluation request.

Students must first obtain the scanned copy of their evaluated answer book before applying for verification or re-evaluation. After receiving the scanned copy, candidates can examine how their answers were evaluated and decide whether to request verification of marks, re-evaluation, or both.

For students who appeared in both the Main and Second Board Examinations for the same subject, verification and/or re-evaluation can be requested for only one answer book — either the Main Examination answer book or the Second Examination answer book.

The application process is completely online, and students are required to submit their applications within the specified timeframe.

This opportunity for re-evaluation and verification is significant for Class 10 students, as it allows them to review their results and potentially improve their scores. The CBSE's decision to provide this facility demonstrates its commitment to ensuring the accuracy and fairness of the examination process.

In conclusion, the CBSE's re-evaluation and verification process for Class 10 students is an important step towards maintaining the integrity of the examination system. Students who are interested in availing this facility must submit their applications before the deadline of August 19, 2026.
