MJP Assistant Accounts Officer Results Face Scrutiny

The Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran’s (MJP) recruitment examination for Assistant Accounts Officer (Gr. B) has come under scrutiny after a candidate questioned the marking system.

The examination was conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) on February 28, 2026, with 1,869 candidates appearing for the exam.

Five candidates were selected and four were placed on the waiting list for the six available vacancies.

The controversy centres on the result of Raj Bharat Gitte, who scored 99/100 in the technical/Accounts section (T5) and was ranked first on the select list.

Shubham Sanjay Jain, a 30-year-old MPSC aspirant, has questioned how the unusually high score was calculated and whether the prescribed marking and normalisation process was followed.

Jain has demanded that the candidate’s question paper, response sheet, answer key, and raw score be examined, along with details of the calculation from raw marks to the final score.

The recruitment advertisement states that marks are calculated after deducting marks for incorrect answers and that scores are equated to account for differences in difficulty levels.

Jain has sought an independent inquiry into the matter, stating that the authorities should disclose the complete calculation to ensure fairness in the selection process.

The MJP recruitment advertisement specifies a five-part structure for the examination, with 50 questions in the fifth section and 100 marks for the technical/Accounts section.

The examination carried 200 marks, with 20 marks each for Marathi and English, 30 each for General Knowledge and IT, and 100 marks for the technical/Accounts section.

The issue has raised concerns about the transparency and fairness of the recruitment examination.

The MJP and IBPS have not yet responded to the allegations, and the matter is currently under scrutiny.
