GRP Prepares Dossiers Of 1,755 Destitute People In MP

The Government Railway Police (GRP) in Madhya Pradesh has prepared digital dossiers of 1,755 destitute and homeless people under Operation Hamdard. The operation, which was launched on July 1, aims to identify and compile records of destitute people, abandoned women, and children found loitering without reason on railway station platforms and nearby areas.

As part of the operation, the GRP has been able to reunite 50 people with their families, while 30 individuals, including men, women, and children, have been sent to shelter homes. On Sunday, the family of a missing woman from Delhi reached Guna and took her home, thanks to the efforts of the GRP.

During a checking operation at Morena railway station, the GRP rescued an 11-year-old girl from Tighra village in Dholpur, Rajasthan, who had got separated from her family. The girl's family was contacted and informed, and she was handed over to the Child Welfare Committee.

The Indore unit of the GRP has prepared digital dossiers of 587 individuals, while the Jabalpur unit has prepared 546 dossiers. The operation is being carried out across the state, with each constable directed to carry out at least 10 actions and each head constable at least 20 actions during the campaign.

The Additional Director General (Rail) Raja Babu Singh has instructed that beggars should be questioned in detail, and if their involvement with any syndicate is found, the strictest action should be taken. The operation will continue till July 31.
