Shravan 2026: Devotees Flock To Shiva Temples Across MP

The first Monday of Shravan 2026 saw a massive influx of devotees at Shiva temples across Madhya Pradesh, with the commencement of Kanwar Yatras.

In Maheshwar, the Baneshwari Kanwar Yatra began with a procession carrying holy Narmada water for the Jalabhishek of Lord Mahakaleshwar. The eight-day pilgrimage started with puja, milk abhishek, and aarti of the Narmada in the presence of saints.

Yatra coordinator and MLA Golu Shukla flagged off the procession, which received a warm welcome across the city. Various organizations and individuals, including Sanatani Hindu leader Manoj Parmar and his Mitra Mandal, greeted the pilgrims.

At the ancient Anadikalpeshwar Mahadev Temple in Alot, large numbers of devotees visited to offer prayers and participate in continuous chanting of 'Om Namah Shivay' and Maha Aarti. The temple, known for its Kalevar Kund, is believed to have healing properties for skin ailments.

In Mandleshwar, Akhand Nirahar Samarth Sadguru Avdhoot Saint Siddha Mahayogi Shri Dada Guru performed abhishek of Lord Shiva at the ancient Gupteshwar Temple. He urged devotees to protect nature and planted a tree.

Shiva temples across Ratlam witnessed a huge turnout of devotees, who offered Jalabhishek and sought blessings of Lord Shiva. Rituals, including Rudrabhishek and Mahamrityunjaya mantra chanting, were held throughout the day.
