CM Launches Anti-Drug Campaign in Madhya Pradesh

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav launched the 'Nashe Se Doori Hai Zaroori 2.0' campaign in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, on Tuesday, with a pledge to eradicate drug cartels from the state. The campaign aims to raise awareness about the adverse effects of substance abuse, particularly among youth and students.

The Chief Minister stated that the police have been given a free hand to tackle drug cartels, just as they had successfully dealt with dacoity and Naxalism in the past. He emphasized the importance of making India drug-free by 2029, a target set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

According to Yadav, addiction not only destroys an individual but also damages the future of their entire family. He cited a saying that suggests that putting one child into addiction or gambling can destroy a family. The Chief Minister also announced that the state government has imposed a liquor ban at 19 places of religious importance.

Social Justice Minister Narayan Kushwah echoed the Chief Minister's sentiments, stating that addiction is the root cause of destruction and can finish a family in all aspects. He highlighted the state government's efforts to rescue youths from drug addiction and provide counselling to those already addicted through de-addiction clinics.

The 'Nashe Se Doori Hai Zaroori 2.0' campaign will run across the state from July 15 to July 30. Special Director General of Police Pankaj Shrivastava explained that the campaign will focus on raising awareness about the adverse effects of substance abuse and inspiring public participation to build a drug-free Madhya Pradesh.

Various awareness activities will be organized across all districts in coordination with the police, administration, educational institutions, social organizations, and public representatives. These activities will include awareness rallies, seminars, street plays, pledge-taking ceremonies, interactive sessions in schools and colleges, Jan Chaupals, poster and slogan competitions, social media campaigns, and special programs focused on de-addiction.

The campaign's objective is to create a drug-free Madhya Pradesh through public participation. The state government's efforts to tackle drug addiction and eradicate drug cartels are a significant step towards achieving this goal.

The 'Nashe Se Doori Hai Zaroori 2.0' campaign is a follow-up to the previous campaign, which aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of substance abuse. The new campaign will build on the successes of the previous one and will involve a wider range of stakeholders, including educational institutions, social organizations, and public representatives.

In conclusion, the launch of the 'Nashe Se Doori Hai Zaroori 2.0' campaign marks a significant effort by the Madhya Pradesh government to tackle drug addiction and eradicate drug cartels. The campaign's focus on raising awareness and inspiring public participation is a crucial step towards creating a drug-free Madhya Pradesh.

The success of this campaign will have a positive impact on the state and the country as a whole, as it will help to reduce the incidence of substance abuse and promote a healthier and more productive society. The campaign's objective of making India drug-free by 2029 is an ambitious one, but with the collective efforts of the government, civil society, and the public, it is achievable.
