Shiv Sena Politician Detained After Gun Misfires At Varanasi Airport

A Shiv Sena politician and former Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) corporator, Kamlesh Rai, was detained at Varanasi Airport after his licensed firearm accidentally discharged, injuring two security personnel. The incident occurred at around 9:30 am when Rai was preparing to board a flight to Mumbai.

Rai, a prominent political figure from Mumbai's eastern suburbs, was carrying a licensed 7.62 mm pistol along with 21 live cartridges.
