Neemuch Businessman Kidnapped, Forced To Pay ₹50 Lakh

Harshit Jain, a businessman from Neemuch in Madhya Pradesh, has filed a complaint alleging that he was kidnapped and forced to arrange ₹50 lakh at gunpoint. The incident occurred on Sunday when Jain, who is the nephew of senior BJP leader Santosh Chopra, was called by accused Kamlesh Dhangar near PG College.

According to the complaint, Jain was forced into a Scorpio vehicle, where two more accused joined on the way. The accused then took him to a deserted stone quarry near Nimbahera in Rajasthan, where they threatened him with a pistol and demanded ₹50 lakh.

Jain alleged that he was able to arrange ₹15 lakh from Neemuch through a broker, Hemant Choudhary, and another ₹10 lakh from Nimbahera through an acquaintance, Nilesh Mehta. However, despite receiving ₹25 lakh, the accused did not release him and instead assaulted him and took him towards the quarry again.

The complainant claimed that he managed to escape when the vehicle stopped near a liquor shop on the highway. Although the accused chased and assaulted him, Jain was able to reach the highway and was helped by a passerby, who took him to a Rajasthan Police team.

The police have registered a case against Kamlesh Dhangar, Pratham Prajapati, and two unidentified accused under sections related to kidnapping, extortion, assault, criminal intimidation, and the Arms Act. The investigation is currently underway.
