However, despite receiving ₹25 lakh, the accused did not release him and instead assaulted him and took him towards the quarry again.

The complainant claimed that he managed to escape when the vehicle stopped near a liquor shop on the highway. Although the accused chased and assaulted him, Jain was able to reach the highway and was helped by a passerby, who took him to a Rajasthan Police team.

The police have registered a case against Kamlesh Dhangar, Pratham Prajapati, and two unidentified accused under sections related to kidnapping, extortion, assault, criminal intimidation, and the Arms Act. The investigation is currently underway.
