Lokayukta Raids MP Engineer's 9 Properties, Finds Assets 258% Above Income

The Lokayukta conducted raids on the properties of MP Power Superintending Engineer Shivram Semil across Indore, Dhar, Pithampur, and Morena on Tuesday. The raids were carried out in response to a complaint of disproportionate assets.

A transformer manufacturing company was also found to be operating in the name of his son, Shubham, on a plot in Pithampur Sector 3. The factory covers an area of 880 square meters and has an estimated expenditure of ₹1.25 crore.

Multiple companies were found to be registered in the names of Semil's family members, including a firm called 'Karnish Powerzone' with a share capital of ₹50 lakh. This firm had purchased two plots in Pithampur Sector 3, where an old factory is established and a new factory is under construction.

The total expenditure incurred by Semil was found to be ₹6.5 crore, which is 258% more than his total net salary of ₹2 crore earned throughout his service period. The total value of his assets exceeds ₹7.16 crore.

The Lokayukta police have registered a case against Semil under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The action was taken after the raids uncovered assets that were disproportionate to his known income.

The raids were conducted simultaneously at nine locations, including Indore, Pithampur, Dhar, and Morena. The case against Semil is a significant one, highlighting the issue of corruption among government officials.
