Panvel Civic Body Approves Multi-Level Parking, Road Repairs

The Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) general body meeting, held on Thursday, approved several development and infrastructure proposals.

The meeting, chaired by Mayor Nitin Patil, was attended by senior civic officials, including Deputy Mayor Pramila Patil and Additional Municipal Commissioner Ganesh Shete.

One of the key proposals approved was the construction of a multi-level mechanised parking facility on land bearing CTS No. 184/1A Part in Panvel city. The proposal was approved unanimously, along with the estimated expenditure.

The general body also granted administrative and financial approval for replacing the existing dysfunctional gas crematorium at the Amar Dham crematorium in Panvel with a new two-unit gas cremation system.

In addition, the civic body approved annual-rate contracts for road repair works for two years, covering 2026-27 and 2027-28, across all four ward committees. The works will cover various wards in Kharghar, Kalamboli, Kamothe, and Panvel.

The general body also approved proposals to construct a fish market, a community hall, and Marathi- and English-medium schools. However, a proposal to construct a shelter for small and large animals was rejected.

The civic body also approved the construction of parks at Plot C-20 in Sector 4 of New Panvel and Plot B-04 in Sector 12 of Kalamboli. A proposal to provide free training under the Social Development Department was deferred.

Furthermore, the civic body approved the construction of a Divyang Bhavan at Plot No. 7/B, Sector 16, New Panvel (East). The facility will provide education, training, and service facilities, as well as healthcare services for persons with disabilities.

The approval of these infrastructure projects is expected to improve the quality of life for residents in Panvel. The civic body's efforts to develop public amenities and infrastructure will likely have a positive impact on the city's growth and development.

In conclusion, the Panvel Municipal Corporation's general body meeting has cleared the way for several important infrastructure projects in the city.
