Mumbai-Pune Train Line Restoration Underway
Trains run on single line, safety inspections pending

The Mumbai-Pune railway line restoration is ongoing after a landslide caused significant damage. Currently, trains are operating on a single restored line with two locomotives.
This temporary setup will continue until all three lines are fully functional. Round-the-clock work is being done to clear debris and rebuild the damaged railway infrastructure.
The Railway Minister has reviewed the restoration progress. Safety inspections will be conducted before the section is certified for normal train operations.
The use of two locomotives ensures trains can navigate the challenging ghat section safely. The restoration work is a priority to resume normal train services as soon as possible.
The safety of passengers is the top concern, and hence, thorough inspections will be carried out before allowing trains to run at full capacity.
