Makarand Narwekar Urges BMC To Install Safety Nets For Falling Coconuts

Makarand Narwekar, BJP Corporator from Colaba, has written to BMC chief Ashwini Bhide, urging the civic body to take preventive measures against the safety risks posed by falling coconuts from old trees along roadsides.

The corporator has requested the BMC to install 'fall protection nets' on coconut trees situated on public roads, in parks, and in high-traffic areas. He pointed out that the Colaba area has a large number of old coconut trees, and incidents of coconuts suddenly falling from them occur frequently.

He suggested that good quality nylon protective nets should be installed on coconut trees identified as hazardous, particularly those located near roads, in parks, and in high-traffic areas.
