Indore Seizes 1,750L Ghee Worth ₹6.8L

On Tuesday, Food Safety Administration officials in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, seized approximately 1,750 litres of ghee valued at ₹6.80 lakh from a local establishment.

The seized ghee, comprising two brands manufactured in Gujarat, was found at Maa Baglamukhi Enterprises in Scheme No 51.

Officials conducted an inspection to verify the quality of food products stored and sold at the establishment, discovering various pack sizes of ghee under the Manthan and Shri Anand brands.

As the products were imported from another state, officials collected 18 samples from different batches and pack sizes for quality testing.

These samples were sent to a food testing laboratory to assess compliance with prescribed safety and quality standards.

The seized ghee will remain in custody until the laboratory reports are received.

According to officials, special inspections are being conducted on ghee supplied to Indore and other parts of Madhya Pradesh from outside the state, targeting manufacturers, distribution depots, wholesalers, and retailers.

Action under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, and relevant rules will be taken based on the laboratory reports.
