Nashik Hit by 4.3-Magnitude Earthquake

A 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck Nashik district on Saturday at around 10:00 pm, according to the National Centre for Seismology. The epicentre was located at a depth of approximately 5 km below the ground.

The earthquake was felt in parts of Surgana, Kalwan, Deola, Chandwad, Peth, Dindori, Nashik, and Niphad talukas.

District Collector Ayush Prasad appealed to citizens not to panic and to remain vigilant. He advised citizens to inspect their buildings for any cracks or signs of structural damage and to contact the local administration if any danger is noticed.

The district administration has also warned citizens to be cautious in landslide-prone areas, especially in ghat sections. They should check for cracks in the ground and observe any unusual signs such as water flowing underground or sounds of flowing water.

The National Centre for Seismology and MERI, Nashik, recorded the magnitude of the earthquake at 4.3 and 4.1 Mg, respectively.
