Farmer Wins Top Honours For Mango Varieties

A remarkable achievement has been made by Yuvraj Singh Rathore, a farmer from Chhota Undwa village in Alirajpur district, Madhya Pradesh. He has won top honours at the Mango Festival 2026 held in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, for cultivating a wide range of premium mango varieties.

Rathore's farm is home to around 140 nationally and internationally renowned mango varieties, and he sells produce worth Rs 20 to 22 lakh annually in several states, including Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Maharashtra, and Himachal Pradesh. His interest in mango cultivation was inspired by his grandfather, a traditional farmer with a passion for nature.

Rathore has adopted scientific farming practices, seeking technical guidance from scientists at Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Agricultural University and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). He also mentors fellow farmers and encourages young people to adopt modern agricultural techniques. At the festival, Rathore won first prizes for seven mango varieties: Fazli, Romani, Noorjahan, Rajapuri, Kesar, Manohari, and Hapus. He also secured a second prize for the Chausa variety.

The awards were presented by Uttar Pradesh Horticulture Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh. The District Administration and Agriculture Department congratulated Rathore on his achievement, stating that it would inspire more farmers to adopt scientific and modern farming practices.

Rathore's success is a testament to the potential of Indian farmers when they adopt modern and scientific techniques. His achievement is expected to have a positive impact on the farming community, encouraging others to follow in his footsteps.

The Mango Festival 2026 has provided a platform for farmers like Rathore to showcase their produce and receive recognition for their hard work. As the farming community continues to evolve, it is essential to acknowledge and support farmers who are making significant contributions to the industry.

In conclusion, Yuvraj Singh Rathore's achievement is a remarkable one, and his dedication to mango cultivation is an inspiration to others. His success story highlights the importance of adopting scientific farming practices and the potential for Indian farmers to make a significant impact in the industry.
