BJP hits back at Didi over Khela Hobey Divas

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has hit back at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for promoting August 16 as Khela Hobey Divas, a sports initiative aimed at encouraging young people through football tournaments and equipment distribution. The day was chosen after the Trinamool Congresss assembly election victory in 2021. However, the BJP has called the initiative a tit-for-tat move, claiming Didi used the slogan for her campaign.

The BJP has accused Didi of copying their Khela Hobey slogan, which was introduced during their last term campaign. The BJP claims the slogan was an apparent dig at Didi, who had used a similar slogan during her campaign.
