UP Govt Digitizes Student Records
Uttar Pradesh updates student records, aims for transparent education system

The Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is working to create a digital education system with accurate and updated records of every student.
This initiative aims to make education administration more transparent, accountable, and result-oriented. A state-wide campaign is being conducted for the academic session 2026-27 to update student profiles and enroll new students on the U-DISE Plus portal.
The U-DISE Plus portal is a data portal that serves as the foundation for effective planning of school education, scientific management of resources, and transparent administration. The government has directed officials to enter and update student details on the portal within a stipulated timeline.
The Director General, School Education, has instructed all District Inspectors of Schools, Basic Shiksha Adhikaris, and Block Education Officers to complete the work of student progression, profile updates, and necessary corrections within the prescribed timeline.
According to the U-DISE progress report, 97.14 percent of the work has been completed, with the Basic Education Department achieving 98.98 percent progress and the Secondary Education Department recording 94.33 percent progress.
The government aims to complete the remaining work and achieve 100 percent completion across the state. The link for new admissions in Pre-Primary and Class 1 has also been activated, and districts have been directed to upload details of newly admitted children on the U-DISE Plus portal.
This initiative will ensure that the benefits of educational schemes reach every student in a timely and effective manner. The availability of updated digital records will also make policy formulation more accurate and effective, further strengthening the school education system.
The Uttar Pradesh government's efforts to digitize student records are part of a broader strategy to create a digital governance and data-driven decision-making model in the state's school education system.
This move is expected to have a positive impact on the education sector in Uttar Pradesh, making it more efficient, transparent, and accountable.
In the long run, this initiative may serve as a model for other states to follow, potentially leading to improvements in education administration across the country.
The successful implementation of this initiative will depend on the government's ability to complete the remaining work and ensure that the U-DISE Plus portal is utilized effectively by all stakeholders.
If successful, this initiative will be a significant step towards creating a more efficient and effective education system in Uttar Pradesh, ultimately benefiting students and contributing to the state's overall development.
The initiative is a testament to the government's commitment to leveraging technology to improve governance and public services, and its potential impact on the education sector will be closely watched in the coming months and years.
