Yogi Govt Schemes Boost Fisheries Business in UP
UP entrepreneur expands business, creates jobs with govt support. Schemes promote self-employment and entrepreneurship.

A young entrepreneur from Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, has successfully expanded his fisheries business and created jobs for others, thanks to the schemes implemented by the Yogi government.
Sujit Chaudhary, who hails from Basti district, had a corporate career before deciding to start his own venture in the fisheries sector. He completed his B.Tech in 2005 and worked in the US for nearly 9 years before returning to India in 2016.
Chaudhary started a software venture in Noida but later decided to establish an agriculture-based enterprise in a rural area during the COVID-19 pandemic. He chose to invest in the fisheries sector and began fish farming on a leased land in Balla village of the Maharajganj area in Raebareli district.
Today, Chaudhary produces fish on a commercial scale through 23 ponds in the area, with an annual production of approximately 500 to 600 tonnes of fish. He has also brought together over 50 farmers and is working to increase their income through fish farming.
The Uttar Pradesh government has been focusing on promoting agriculture and allied sectors, including fisheries, dairy, and food processing. The state government's schemes, such as the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, have encouraged investment in these sectors and created new opportunities for youth.
Chaudhary received a grant of Rs 8.50 lakh under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana in 2021, which helped him expand his enterprise. He is now planning to establish a Fish Hub in the same area, which will provide modern facilities, including a laboratory and training arrangements related to fisheries.
The Fish Hub aims to provide local youth with opportunities for skill development and self-employment. Chaudhary's success story demonstrates the positive impact of the Yogi government's schemes on the grassroots level, where many young people are becoming job creators rather than job seekers.
The Yogi government's vision to promote agriculture and allied sectors is becoming a reality, with many entrepreneurs like Chaudhary benefiting from the policies and schemes. The state government's focus on village-based activities is creating new opportunities for youth and helping to develop large-scale economic activities in rural areas.
The success of Chaudhary's fisheries business is an example of how the right policy support, technical knowledge, and entrepreneurship can lead to economic growth and job creation in rural areas.
In the end, the Yogi government's schemes are not only promoting self-employment and entrepreneurship but also helping to develop the state's economy and create new opportunities for its youth. The impact of these schemes will be felt for years to come, and it is likely that many more entrepreneurs like Chaudhary will emerge in the state, creating jobs and driving economic growth.
