Mandya Woman Found Dead With ₹8.7 Lakh Cash

A 68-year-old woman, Noor Unnisa, who was speech and hearing impaired and lived alone in Mandya, was found dead at her home. The discovery of her body led to a surprising find - wads of cash and piles of coins stored in bags in her house.

The relatives of the deceased were shocked to discover around ₹8.7 lakh in cash and coins stuffed into more than 30 sacks. The money was initially handed over to her two brothers, but they decided to involve the local Mosque authority in the matter.

The Mosque authority, however, refused to declare the money as Mosque property, citing that it was not donated by the owner. Instead, they agreed to count the money and hand it over to the family members, who could then decide how to utilize it.

So far, the counting of 10 bags of cash has been completed, amounting to over ₹8.7 lakh. The counting of coins stored in another 20 bags is still underway.

According to one of Noor Unnisa's nephews, she had preferred to stay alone in her house despite having three brothers and three sisters. She was also mentally challenged and would not allow anyone inside her house, even when her family members came to visit.

The family members had offered to look after her and asked her not to beg, but she never listened. It was only when they realized they had not seen her for three days that they broke open the house and found her dead due to age-related issues.

The discovery of the large amount of cash and coins has raised questions about how Noor Unnisa, a beggar, had accumulated such a large amount of money. The family members are yet to decide how to utilize the money, but for now, it is being counted and secured by the Mosque authority.

The incident has also highlighted the plight of mentally challenged and impaired individuals who are often forced to live alone and fend for themselves.

In this case, Noor Unnisa's decision to live alone and her accumulation of wealth have left her family and the community in surprise.

The final decision on how to utilize the money will be taken by the family members after the counting is completed.
