CM Yogi Honours 81 UP Teachers With State Awards

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will honour 81 teachers from across Uttar Pradesh with the State Teacher Award 2025 and the Chief Minister Teacher Award 2025 on September 5, which is observed as Teachers' Day.

The awards recognize the outstanding contributions of teachers to education and nation-building. A grand ceremony will be held at the Yogiraj Baba Gambhirnath Auditorium in Gorakhpur to felicitate the selected teachers.

The 81 teachers include 61 from the Basic Education Department and 20 from the Secondary Education Department. Among them, 33 are women teachers, with 31 from Basic Education schools and 2 from Secondary Education schools. Five teachers from the Secondary Education Department will receive the Chief Minister Teacher Award.

The primary objective of the awards is to encourage excellence in teaching and strengthen teachers' efforts to spread education in society. The Yogi government will present a citation certificate, a memento, and Rs 25,000 as prize money to the award-winning teachers.

In addition to the prize money, the honoured teachers will be entitled to 4,000 kilometres of free travel annually on Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation buses for life. Teachers receiving the State Teacher Award will also get a two-year extension in their retirement age.

The selected teachers have been chosen for their effective school management, innovation, and holistic development of students. They will be accommodated in hotels in Gorakhpur, with the honour accorded to distinguished guests.
