Driver Kills Guard, Injures Wife in Indore Township Dispute

A 35-year-old security guard, Dharmendra Malviya, was killed and his wife, Jyoti, injured when a car driver, Raja Kumawat, intentionally ran them over in a dispute over entry into the La Exotica township in Indore on Wednesday.

The incident occurred between 9:30 pm and 10 pm when Raja arrived at the township entrance with a female friend. Malviya, who had been working as a security guard at the township for the past year, stopped the vehicle from entering the vacant society and asked them not to park in front of the gate. An argument broke out, and Raja became angry and slapped Malviya.

Malviya called the owner of the township and informed him about the incident, and the owner suggested handling the matter the next morning. Raja also spoke to the owner by phone and was told to leave the premises. However, Raja returned soon after and intentionally drove his car into Malviya and his wife.

Witnesses said Raja reversed and ran over Malviya again before speeding away. Both were rushed to MY Hospital in critical condition, where Dharmendra succumbed to his injuries. Jyoti is undergoing treatment.

The police have registered a murder case against Raja and his female companion and have formed three teams to arrest the suspects, who are at large. The police are reviewing CCTV footage to track them and gather evidence.

This incident is not the first of its kind in the area. In March, a 42-year-old female Infosys software engineer was deliberately crushed to death by a speeding car driven by a youth in a posh residential society under Lasudia police station limits.
