Pakistani Cricketers Earn ₹60 Lakh In 2 Months

A Pakistani sports journalist has alleged that top Pakistani cricketers Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Salman Ali Agha earned around ₹60 lakh in the past two months.

The journalist, Huzaifa Khan, shared a video on social media claiming that the three players earned approximately 1.75 crore Pakistani rupees from July 13 to September 13.

Khan gave a breakdown of their income, which includes match fees, monthly retainer, and daily allowances. According to him, players in the top category earn around 15 lakh PKR per Test match, and with four Tests played, that amounts to 60 lakh PKR in match fees alone.

Elite players also receive an estimated monthly retainer of 40 to 50 lakh PKR, which provides 80 to 90 lakh PKR across the two-month period. Additionally, players receive a daily allowance of approximately $150 while on tour, amounting to around $9,000 (over 25 lakh PKR) for the 60-day window.

Khan stated that only players in Category A, which includes Babar, Shadab, Rizwan, and Salman Ali Agha, earn such high amounts. Other players, like Saud and Shan, are in lower categories and do not earn as much.

The video has gone viral on social media, with many fans expressing their disappointment and frustration with the Pakistan Cricket Team's performance. The team recently suffered a humiliating defeat against England in the three-match Test series.

The Pakistan Cricket Board's central contract structure has been a topic of discussion among fans and critics, with many questioning the high earnings of top players despite the team's poor performance.

The issue has sparked a debate about the fairness and transparency of the contract structure and the need for accountability among players and the board.
