Ratlam Roads Flooded After Heavy Rainfall

A sudden change in weather brought heavy rain to Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, on Sunday afternoon, flooding several roads and streets in the city. The intense rainfall, accompanied by thunder and lightning, lasted for nearly an hour and caused temporary waterlogging.

According to the Meteorological Department, Ratlam district recorded an average rainfall of 0.21 inches on Saturday. Sailana received the highest rainfall at 0.63 inches, followed by Raoti at 0.51 inches. The cumulative rainfall in the district since June 1 is 20.28 inches, with Ratlam recording the highest at 26.30 inches.

The rain brought relief to farmers in Pansemal and surrounding rural areas, who had been awaiting a good spell for a long time. The prolonged rainfall deficit had increased concerns among farmers, with several having to sow maize and soybean for the second time due to inadequate rain after the first sowing.
