Nashik FDA Suspends 3 Hotel Licenses Over Food Safety Violations

On August 12, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) conducted inspections of various establishments in Nashik city and district as part of the ‘Safe Food, Safe Maharashtra’ campaign. The inspections were led by Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe, Joint Commissioner (Food) Mangesh Mane, and Assistant Commissioner Dnyaneshwar Mahale.

The inspections revealed violations of hygiene and food safety norms at three hotel establishments. As a result, the licenses or registration certificates of these establishments were immediately suspended due to contravention of Schedule 4 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.

The three establishments that had their licenses suspended are M/s Hotel Vasco, M/s Celebrita Restaurant and Banquets, and M/s Hotel Mauli. The suspensions were made in the interest of public health, with the FDA placing the highest priority on protecting citizens from unsafe food.

The FDA has urged food business operators to strictly comply with the law regarding hygiene, safe production, storage, handling, and sales. Joint Commissioner Mangesh Mane has also appealed to citizens to lodge complaints with the FDA if they have any doubts regarding food products.
