MP Police Arrest 6 in ₹7.5-Crore Gold Robbery

A major robbery took place in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, where a bullion trader was robbed of gold and silver worth ₹7.5 crore. The incident occurred on August 13, when the trader was returning to Ratlam by bus from Badnagar. The bus was stopped near Rain Phanta, and members seated at the rear snatched the trader's bag and fled on two motorcycles.

According to police, the robbery was allegedly planned by Rohit Nayak, an employee at the trader's shop, who had detailed information about the trader's movements, routes, and the quantity of jewellery he carried. Nayak shared the information with Abhijit alias Abhay, who runs a tea stall below the trader's shop.

The accused had monitored the trader for nearly one-and-a-half months before executing the robbery. They arranged for motorcycles to be used in the escape, which was allegedly done by Ravi alias Babla Gurjar. The gang belonged to a group called 'NNG' and had made an earlier attempt to rob the trader on the Runija-Badnagar route but abandoned the plan after finding him accompanied by another person.

Police arrested six accused in the case, while Rohit Nayak and Gaurav Gurjar remain absconding. The police recovered 238 gold jewellery pieces weighing 4.167 kg and 183 silver jewellery pieces weighing 4.47 kg, collectively valued at around ₹5.41 crore.

The gang had allegedly gone to Harsaula in Indore, where Gaurav Gurjar runs a dhaba, before moving towards Himmatgarh as police intensified the search. The police used CCTV footage and cyber-technological evidence to track down the accused.

Ratlam bullion traders later honoured the police team for solving the case within 48 hours. A proposal to reward the personnel involved has been sent to Police Headquarters.

The incident highlights the importance of vigilance and security in the bullion trade. The police's swift action in solving the case and recovering a significant portion of the stolen valuables is a testament to their efficiency.

The case also raises questions about the security measures in place for bullion traders, who often carry large quantities of valuable items. The police's investigation and arrest of the accused will help to prevent such incidents in the future.

In conclusion, the arrest of six accused in the ₹7.5-crore gold robbery case is a significant achievement for the Madhya Pradesh police. The recovery of ₹5.41 crore worth of valuables is a major success, and the police's efforts to solve the case within 48 hours are commendable.

The incident serves as a reminder of the need for increased security measures in the bullion trade and the importance of vigilance in preventing such crimes. The police's actions in this case will help to prevent similar incidents in the future and ensure the safety of bullion traders and their valuable items.

The Madhya Pradesh police's success in solving the case is a testament to their dedication and hard work. The police's use of technology, including CCTV footage and cyber-technological evidence, was instrumental in tracking down the accused and solving the case.
