Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar SP Highlights Police Patils' Role

Superintendent of Police Prakash Jadhav emphasized the crucial role of Police Patils in maintaining law and order in rural areas. He was speaking at the district's first-ever Police Patil Guidance Camp, held in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on Monday.

The camp aimed to brief Police Patils on their statutory duties, responsibilities, and the importance of preventive policing. During the programme, 21 Police Patils were felicitated for their outstanding work, and all 573 Police Patils in the district received a 'Police Patil Duty Guide'.

Additional SP Prashant Swami, sub-divisional police officers, police station in-charges, branch heads, and other officers attended the programme. SP Jadhav highlighted that Police Patils are the first point of contact for maintaining peace, security, and social harmony in villages.

He noted that timely information provided by Police Patils enables the police to take preventive action before serious crimes occur. The role of Police Patils has expanded beyond traditional responsibilities, and they are now expected to prevent unauthorized installations, maintain law and order during events, preserve communal harmony, and monitor rumors on social media.

The 'Police Patil Duty Guide' covers various aspects, including the Maharashtra Village Police Act, legal powers and responsibilities of Police Patils, preventive policing, disaster management, and intelligence gathering.

Twenty-one Police Patils were recognized for their exemplary service, including Santosh Gavande, Santosh Pagare, and Bhalchandra Patil. The guidance camp aimed to equip Police Patils with the necessary knowledge and skills to meet emerging challenges and maintain efficient law and order in rural areas.

The event underscored the importance of Police Patils in maintaining social harmony and preventing crimes in villages. By providing them with the necessary guidance and resources, the police department aims to enhance their effectiveness in maintaining law and order.
