Worli: 60-Year-Old Woman Killed by BEST Bus Tyre

A 60-year-old woman was killed in a tragic accident in Worli on Monday morning. The woman, identified as Vanmala R. Sabale, was alighting from a taxi at the ST Office traffic signal when a BEST wet-lease bus moved forward after the signal turned green.

The bus, which was travelling from Byculla Station to Lotus, had halted at the signal alongside the taxi. As the signal turned green, the bus driver moved forward, and the woman came into contact with the left rear tyre of the bus.

She sustained severe head injuries and bleeding from her head and ear. The bus conductor immediately shifted her to Nair Hospital, where she was declared dead at 12.15 pm.
