BRICS Delegates Visit Bhimbetka Rock Shelters

Delegates from the BRICS Culture Working Group and Ministerial Group visited the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Bhimbetka Rock Shelters in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday.

The visit took place amid rain, but that did not deter the delegates from experiencing the thousands-of-years-old human civilisation and prehistoric rock art.

More than 15 delegates representing BRICS nations, including South Africa, Indonesia, Russia, and China, were part of the visit.

Under the guidance of superintending archaeologist Shivakant Bajpai and his team from the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Bhopal Circle, the delegates visited the rock shelters.
