SC Refuses Urgent Hearing On Plea Against Police Action

The Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to allow urgent listing of a petition regarding the Delhi police crackdown on student protesters in the national capital.

The petition was related to the police action against supporters of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) during the 'Chalo Sansad' march. Chief Justice of India Surya Kant told the lawyer who mentioned the matter, 'Don't waste our time, and don't waste your time.'

The protests have also received support from Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao, who said that when young people feel unheard, society must listen. He also condemned violence from any side, saying it only deepens wounds.
