Second Death in Ratlam E-Scooter Fire

A tragic e-scooter fire incident in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, has claimed its second life. Bindu Kunwar, 36, succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at an Indore hospital. Her 16-year-old daughter, Antim, had died 13 days earlier due to injuries sustained in the same incident. The fire occurred on August 19 in Vindhyavasini Colony.

Karni Sena and the family submitted a 10-point memorandum to city tehsildar Kulbhushan Sharma, addressed to the district magistrate. The memorandum demands a high-level forensic investigation, strict legal action against the e-scooter operator, a ban on the sale of the model, reimbursement of medical expenses, and assistance for Vijay Laxmi, the elder daughter who survived the incident.

Sharma assured the family that Vijay Laxmi would receive a compassionate appointment and other government benefits as per eligibility. Bindu was an Anganwadi worker in Gunavad village, Petlawad tehsil, Jhabua district.

Deendayal Nagar police station in-charge Anurag Yadav said a culpable homicide case has been registered against the e-scooter operator, and an investigation has been initiated.
