Central Railway GM Hoists Flag on 80th Independence Day

Rajeev Shrivastava, General Manager of Central Railway, hoisted the National Flag at the Central Railway headquarters, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Mumbai on August 15, 2026, to mark the 80th Independence Day.

The General Manager reviewed the RPF Parade and addressed the gathering, conveying his warmest greetings to all railway personnel, their families, and esteemed users. He shared his thoughts on the significant contributions of Central Railway towards the progress and development of the Nation.

Speaking to media persons, the General Manager announced the upgradation of 22 suburban services on Main Line's CSMT-Karjat/Khopoli Section from 12 Coach to 15 Coach trains, taking the total 15 Coach services on Central Railway to 54. He also added that 11 Mail and Passenger trains have been upgraded to the status of regular trains, which will benefit passengers.

The event featured a presentation by the CR RPF Dog squad, including welcoming the General Manager, Fire hurdle jump, and Indian Flag identification. The event also featured a cultural presentation by artistes of Central Railway Cultural Academy, which continued despite heavy rains. Balloons in Tricolour were released by the General Manager, symbolizing the Spirit of Freedom.
